The tournament is open to all children in grades K-8. No prior tournament experience is necessary. If you are experienced, the tournament will serve as a great warmup to National events. Plus, free game analysis will be available at the tournament!

Merci Beaucoup! Chess Players Support Haiti Earthquake Victims

Thank you to players and donors at the January 16th simultaneous benefit exhibition at Myers Park High School.

Your generosity raised $379 in three hours to go directly to S.O.S. Haiti Development Foundation, an organization linked to a Charlotte chess family from Haiti.

If you would like to contribute directly, you may mail your contribution to: Dr. Saidel Laine, Foundation President, S.O.S. Haiti Development Foundation (SOSHADEF) 18 Samana Drive, Coconut Grove, FL 33133.

Many thanks to the Myers Park High School Chess Team and Joe Biernacki for helping to organize the event.
