Young Master Chess JAN 22 Winter Tournament & MiniCamp

Young Master Chess will hold its 2019 Winter Tournament & MiniCamp:

Tuesday, January 22 at Myers Park Traditional School (2132 Radcliffe Ave).

The tournament is scheduled on a CMS Teacher Work Day from 9am to 2:30pm - a great opportunity for your child to play in a live chess tournament while you keep your normal schedule (parents do not need to stay).

This event will include team tournament games played throughout the day, along with a puzzle contest and chess instruction. It's open to students in grades 1-5 and will be a smaller, unrated team-style tournament where players from area schools will be grouped together. (Anyone can register. There is no minimum needed from each school.)

This year's event is a fun day for focused players who want to improve their chess. We'll include more chess instruction during the day, chess activities between rounds, and a team puzzle contest. This is not day-care. Students should come prepared for a full tournament day.

Earn bonus puzzle points for your team! Each participant who correctly solves 50 puzzles on his/her account in the week prior to the tournament earns bonus points for their team's puzzle contest. Log on & get started solving puzzles!

The registration fee includes a pizza lunch (2 slices & a bottle of water). Students may bring snacks.

Check-in begins at 8:30am (please do NOT arrive before this time, as we'll be setting up). Pick-up is promptly at 2:30pm. We'll have an awards ceremony at around 2:10pm which parents are invited to attend, please join us!

You must be PRE-REGISTERED for this event. In order to provide a fun & fair tournament, space is limited and this will be a smaller event. There will be ABSOLUTELY NO registration the morning of the event.
Registration for the JAN 22 event is now CLOSED. Thanks to everyone who signed up! We'll see you tomorrow morning -

Cost of the tournament is $40, (includes lunch). Registration fee is payable on-site by cash or check the morning of the event. Please make checks payable to "Young Master Chess, LLC."
By registering, you are taking a reserved spot in the tournament. Any cancellations or no-shows within 3 days prior to the event will still require the tournament fee be paid.

Good luck to all the participants! See you there -
